Sky News reader Kay Burley has said her reason for undergoing cosmetic surgery was simply "to look nice". The mother-of-one celebrated her 50th birthday earlier this year with a lower face and neck lift in June. This followed an eyelift 10 years earlier. In interviews, the news anchor has denied that pressure to look younger led to her having surgery. She told the Times newspaper: "People say, 'It's because you're on the telly'. No, it's because I'm a woman and I want to look nice. "If Mother Nature needs a helping hand, why not? I've always tried to take care of myself, but this was something that no matter how many calories I burnt off, it didn't make any difference." Giving a message to other women who are considering undergoing cosmetic surgery themselves, Burley said: "Don't be frightened, do your research, choose the right surgeon, and if you still want to go ahead, then don't worry."
