Kim Cattrall on ageing and cosmetic surgery
05 July 2011
Star of Sex in the City Kim Cattrall has spoken out in defence of older women in Hollywood, saying its unfair that they are not allowed to age or have cosmetic surgery.
Speaking to Psychologies magazine, Cattrall said: I think the scrutiny of women is obscene.
If you don't do anything, you're like an old hag; and if you do, you're a plastic surgeon 'victim'. Where can we go to age with respect and dignity? People won't let us, particularly in America. It's just so cruel.
The 54-year-old has expressed her intentions to grow old gracefully buts admits that this is hard in America. She also believes that people should live and let live, meaning women should be left alone if they wish to have cosmetic surgery.
Cattrall admits that getting older makes it harder to attract interest from films directors too.
It's hard getting older - especially for an attractive woman, because your looks are something that were on your side - but you need to put in perspective, she said.
