They may not seem the most likely candidates for Non Surgical Cosmetic Treatments, but in preparation for the big home nations derby this weekend, Wales’ Dominic Day and England teammates Antony Watson and Jonathon Joseph have all undergone a selection of treatments including Laser Hair Removal, PPx Lasers and the Dermalroller.
It’s part of the changing image of the game as Day explains, “You still get those 1970s type fellas that hang around the club house, and if they saw something like this, they just wouldn’t get it really. They don’t understand rugby is a professional sport now and you’ve got to look after yourself and that means looking after your appearance as well as your fitness.”
Day had a Laser Facial Treatment to correct the damage done to his complexion after using sunbeds, as well as a Microdermabrasion. This deep exfoliating treatment rejuvenates the appearance of skin by buffing away the top layers of dead skin cells, unblocking the clogged pores that can lead to blemishes and brightening the overall appearance of the skin.
England player Antony Watson had a Dermal Roller treatment to address the acne scars on his upper cheeks. The micro needling facial stimulates the body’s natural healing process and the production of collagen and elastin, dramatically reducing the appearance of scars.
Jonathon Joseph chose to remove the hair from his chest and stomach with a course of Laser Hair Removal before the big match.
