People who suffer from excessive perspiration are turning to a well-known line and wrinkle treatment for help. According to a Canadian medical specialist, Botox is one option that people can use for the treatment of excessive sweating, known as hyperhidrosis. In the same way that Botox helps to stop wrinkles by relaxing a person's muscles, it can be used to block messages telling the body to perspire from reaching the sweat gland. The cause of the condition remains unknown, but the effects can have a major impact on the sufferer's life. It can lead to a loss of confidence and self-consciousness, leaving some people unable to lift up their arms or shake another person's hand. Toronto-based cosmetic dermatologist Dr Nowell Solish said the condition results in a degree of perspiration that is markedly different to that usually experienced during periods of strenuous activity. He said: "It's not sweating when you exercise and work out it's sweating all the time. Even in the winter, even when you're home watching TV. "Basically, if your sweating is enough that it interferes with your daily activities of your life, you probably have hyperhidrosis."
