Miami is home to vainest people in the US, says survey

The coastal city of Miami, in the US state of Florida, has the most vain residents in the country, according to a new poll. Research carried out by daily deals website LivingSocial, found that most of the city's residents said they were "a seven", when asked to rank themselves on a scale of one to 10 with regard to their looks.The survey of 4,000 people living in 20 American cities also discovered that Miami residents knew more people who have undergone a cosmetic surgery treatment such as laser hair removal, facelift surgery and liposuction. Almost a quarter of the people who took part in the survey said they knew someone with breast implants. Chicago ranked second in LivingSocial's list of US cities with the most vain residents, while Atlanta rounded off the top three. The research found that in general, most Americans have high self-esteem, with just under one in three rating themselves as an eight, nine or a 10 in terms of their looks. More than half of all those surveyed gave themselves at least a seven.
