New cosmetic surgery information site launches

Cosmetic surgery information site, NewImage.com, is expected to unveil its new consumer portal at Plastic Surgery 2008, the annual meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).

The site positions itself as the foremost resource on cosmetic surgery operations on the internet, with a variety of interactive search tools and fact sheets for patients.

Visitors to NewImage.com's new portal can participate in surveys and rate articles found on the website in relation to their usefulness. Interactive forums and blogs will also help to create a social community around the site.

What's more, a photo gallery and testimonials section will allow users to share their experience on a range of procedures, including tummy tucks, facelifts and breast augmentation.

Kathy Tuite, from NewImage.com's parent company My Choice Medical Holdings, said: "NewImage.com sets the new standard for online elective medical procedure information and services. We've created a community where cosmetic plastic surgeons, financers, and image consultants collectively work to provide clients with a safe and fulfilling experience...

"We value and respect the cosmetic plastic surgery community and strive to provide the best resources available to support both surgeons and people who want to enhance their lives through surgical procedures and board-certified surgeons."

As the cosmetic surgery industry continues to grow and gain in popularity with consumers, community-based sites like NewImage.com will continue to flourish.

Earlier this month, for instance, ASPS announced its new partnership with RealSelf.com, an impartial online resource on cosmetic surgery.

And in September, a new website dedicated to providing information on anti-ageing procedures - including facelifts, eye bag removal and Botox - was also established.
