New solution for dissolving double chins
30 April 2015
Do you catch yourself de-tagging photos of yourself on social media because you don’t like your double chin? Well now, there’s a solution to the problem. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has now approved an injection designed to dissolve the excess fat that gives you a double chin.
In the past, while patients have been able to easily treat mild-to-moderate lines and wrinkles and early signs of ageing with the likes of Botox and Dermal Fillers, getting rid of a double chin required Cosmetic Surgery.
With the approval of Kybella however, there’s now a Non Surgical alternative for those who wish to avoid going down the surgical route.
Adults with ‘moderate-to-severe fat below the chin’ are considered ideal candidates for the treatment, with may consist of up to 50 injections in a single session.
Kybella may be used for up to six treatment sessions, with at least one month between each.
The FDA has stressed though that the treatment must only be used for eliminating double chins and has not been approved for use in any other part of the body.
Common side effects of the treatment include bruising, swelling, numbness, and redness.
