Nose surgery changed my life, says Friends star
She was just 16 when she had her nose reshaped – but it turned out to be a procedure which changed the life of a young Lisa Kudrow. Actress Lisa went on to achieve global fame as ditzy Phoebe in worldwide hit comedy Friends, but has only now spoken out about her decision to go for the specialist surgery. She called the procedure "life-altering", and until undergoing it had had no wish to go into acting, instead expecting to work for her doctor father."I went from, in my mind, hideous, to not hideous," she has revealed. "I did it the summer before going to a new high school. So there were plenty of people who wouldn't know how I looked before," she told America's Saturday Evening Post. She went on to attend an improvisational acting course, after which she was picked for the plum role in Friends. Kudrow is not the only one from the show to have had a surgical procedure – her co-star Jennifer Aniston is well known to have previously undergone a Rhinoplasty to correct a deviated septum. Since the show ended a decade ago, Kudrow, now 50, has been selective about the work she takes, but will guest-star in a new drama, Scandal, which has been filmed for the American ABC network.
