Party season sees increased demand for cosmetic procedures
18 December 2012As Christmas approaches, many plastic surgeons have seen an increase in the number of people requesting their services to ensure they look their best over the festive season. Dr Benjamin Barankin and Dr Anatoli Freiman, medical directors of Toronto Dermatology Centre, explained there are a wide variety of treatments available to tackle many different issues. As well as more advanced cosmetic procedures, there are some fast, virtually pain-free and non-invasive treatments that have virtually no downtime. These are perfect for busy individuals who do not have the time to recover from a more serious operation, but want to improve their appearance. If you're looking to improve the lines and wrinkles on the forehead or around the eyes, then Botox or the newest form of botulinum toxin called Xeomin are terrific treatments, said Dr Barankin. He also noted that fillers are perfect for plumping up the lips or filling out laughter lines, while microdermabrasion is ideal for improving the quality of the skin.
