Women undergoing plastic surgery are increasingly opting to keep their look as natural as possible, an expert has claimed. Dr George Pope, a surgeon at the Orlando Plastic Surgery Center in the US, discussed some of the trends that are emerging among patients this year.He stated that although women are still opting to undergo procedures, they want their overall appearance to seem as though they have had nothing done. “Women are wanting fuller lips, but not Angelina Jolie-sized lips. They're wanting fuller breasts through breast augmentation surgery, but are keeping the size natural looking,” Dr Pope stated. The expert claimed ‘mummy makeovers’ have grown in popularity in 2012 as women who have had children try to get back their original shape with tummy tucks, breast lifts or augmentation and liposuction, all of which are performed at the same time. When it comes to non-invasive procedures, Dr Pope – who is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery – noted Botox and Sculptra are the most popular. He claimed women like these injectables because they make them appear “red carpet ready”, but allow them to keep their face looking natural at the same time.
