'The Role and Importance of Facial Fat Compartments in Facial Rejuvenation Today', presented by Texan based plastic surgeon, Dr Rohrich at the annual Jornada Paulista de Cirurgia Plastica yesterday, highlighted the many advances in facial ageing surgery. Dr Rohrich explained how the discovery of facial fat compartments and how they modify as we age can be used to to achieve a more natural and longer lasting look when going under the knife."A facelift is not, nor could ever be, a one-size-fits-all procedure," Dr Rohrich comments. Plastic surgeons have quickly adapted their approach and planning when performing facial rejuvenation operations since Roherich’s finding were reported, and the emphasis on the ‘individual approach’ is universally recognised. "This approach is now the cardinal rule of facial rejuvenation," says Dr Rohrich, who describes today’s facial procedures as a series of synchronised component operations which re-shape the face and make it ultimately more youthful-looking.
