Pre-Wedding Beauty Tips For Glowing Skin
20 June 2014Getting ready for your big day requires absolute precision, planning and perfection – especially in the beauty department. After all, there’s nothing worse than having a flawed complexion when having those all-important wedding photos taken!Fortunately renowned facialist Sarah Champan has shared some expert advice – with her top tip being to pamper at night. “A great deal of your skin’s natural rejuvenation process takes place at night,” she said. “Applying specific night treatments that are rich in high performance actives helps the skin to take advantage of its own night time cell renewal process and its benefits. Night is the time to repair, not defend,” she explains. Dermatologists will gladly support the notion that a well-balanced diet will assist with healthy skin and offer a youthful appearance. With a multitude of foods available to help skin hydrated and smooth, it’s important to recognise which foods can defend skin cells from damage – and which can harm our complexion. “In the run-up to your wedding, cut out sugars and reduce dairy, but eat plenty of good fats. Make sure to keep the skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and also using a good moisturiser – don’t ignore moisturiser as an oily skin can be lacking in it,” Chapman states. She adds: “If you suffer from excess shine, introduce the use of Vitamin A skincare to work on balancing the sebum protection.” Want bright eyes? Put the sparkle into your sight with hydration. Chapman advises: “Drinking plenty of water will help you avoid bags under the eyes. Also, soak cotton pads in rosewater and store in the fridge to cool and use the day before and on the morning of the wedding.” What’s your secret for looking your best for your big day?
