Rihanna considers breast surgery
12 September 2008
Barbados-born singer Rihanna revealed that she would consider breast surgery in the future, stating that she may go under the knife "if my breasts started to drop", according to celebrity plastic surgery site Make Me Heal.
The 20-year-old star has faced rumours about various cosmetic surgeries in the past, including rhinoplasty and skin-lightening procedures. However, this is the first time the singer has spoken out about possible cosmetic enhancement herself, and she appears to be considering breast augmentation or mastoplexy (breast lift).
The Grammy Award winning artist, who is a model and fashion designer as well as enjoying a successful music career, holds the record for the most number one singles this decade - an honour she shares with fellow singers Mariah Carey and Beyoncé.
The cosmetic surgery website reports that, despite considering breast surgery, Rihanna is not planning on undergoing any cosmetic procedures in the near future. She said: "For the next 20-25 years I'm going to stay as natural as possible."
Rihanna is the latest in a string of celebrities who have come under speculation over whether they have had, or will soon receive, cosmetic surgery. Britney Spears, who won three high profile accolades at this year's MTV Video Awards as well as Video of the Year for Piece of Me, is known to have had a number of cosmetic treatments in the past which helped spur rumours that her sculpted look at the ceremony was aided by further cosmetic surgeries.
