Scarlett Johansson has the perfect nose, according to latest findings

The secret to Scarlett Johansson’s beauty has been discovered – and it may come as a surprise.  It’s not her flawless skin, amazing cheekbones or her feline eyes – it all comes down to the angle of her nose. A recent poll of 4,000 people between the ages of 18 and 25 has found that a “nasal tip rotation” of 106 degrees, like Scarlett’s, is the key to a woman being perceived as beautiful. So what is it about this particular angle? Well, scientists claim that a slightly upturned nose enhances a woman’s femininity, while noses with a tile of less than 90 degrees are often seen as droopy and masculine. When shown photographs of women whose noses had been digitally altered to various angles, the results were unanimous that 106 degrees was the ideal optimum. Author of the study, Dr Omar Ahmed of New York University, said: “Throughout history artists and scholars have been engrossed in the pursuit of capturing what constitutes beauty. Dating back to ancient Egypt artists idealised facial proportions in their works. “To our knowledge this is the first population-based study to attempt to simultaneously determine the ideal NTP – nasal tip projection – and rotation. A rotation of 106 degrees was found to be the most aesthetic.” Do you think the angle of a woman’s nose affects her beauty? Let us know your thoughts on Facebook.
