This week, Kym Marsh came out about just how happy she is with her recent breast lift and I started wondering about UK soap stars. In the US, there's generally a lot of news about the Hollywood crowd keeping themselves looking the part with a little help from cosmetic surgery, but I think it's a trend that also replicates on our shores.I mean, we have some really strong soaps over here, and the actors and actresses from favourites like Eastenders and Corrie are some of our best loved celebs. They're also pretty keen to make sure they look their best too, especially when it results in a confidence boost like it did for Eastenders actress Lace Turner, who felt that her boob job brightened her outlook - as did former Hollyoaks siren Gemma Atkinson. Then there is Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter who found liposuction and breast surgery helped her feel at her best. There are also loads of British soap stars who I suspect have had a little help, but if they're not ready to talk about it then I won't say anything! Either way though, when I watched the watched the British soap awards back in May I definitely thought that our home-grown stars were a match for American greats when it came to looks as well as acting abilities. And, thinking of former Eastenders star Michelle Ryan - who since starred in America's the Bionic Woman - I'm not the only one.
