Model Sophie Anderton has agreed to undergo a cosmetic surgery procedure for a cable television show, making her the latest in a line of celebrities taking part in reality TV shows about cosmetic surgery.
The model is to undergo liposuction in an attempt to rid herself from cellulite for a program on the Wedding TV channel. According to the Daily mail, Miss Anderton, 31, chose to have the surgery in a bid to revitalize her modelling career and to feel comfortable walking with her boyfriend
Miss Anderton, who is engaged to property developer Ed Buxton, agreed to be filmed during the procedure itself and to be interviewed by the show's presenter - WAG Lizzie Cundy. Sophie was seen on WAGs World - a show that sneaks a peek into the lives of the wives and girlfriends of the UKs top football players.
The televising of Miss Anderton's procedure follows Kerry Katona's recent broadcast for an MTV reality show, where the former Atomic Kitten singer was filmed undertaking liposuction, breast reduction surgery and non-surgical treatment for her stretch marks.
There has been a recent trend in TV shows focusing on cosmetic surgery, and Leslie Ash's face to Face, shown in September, caused the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors (BACS) to announce support for tighter regulations for the dermal fillers market. Earlier this year, an Australian survey suggested that reality TV fuels demand for cosmetic surgery, but it can also be surmised that rising interest in cosmetic surgery drives reality TV shows on the subject.
