Stress could be causing your wrinkles, says skin expert
18 July 2014Do you ever catch yourself worrying about wrinkles? Whether you’re stressed about those fine lines on your face or you’re nervously anticipating their arrival, it’s important to stop. According to a skin expert, managing stress could be the key to keeping those wrinkles at bay. Studies have revealed that stress causes our bodies to release hormones such as adrenalin and cortisol, which can cause inflammation and premature ageing. Not only that, but many of our visits to the Dermatologist can be linked back to psychological factors – for example, if you notice regular breakouts on your chin and around your jawline, it could be a sign that you are stressed. Another side-effect of stress can manifest itself in the form of Psoriasis, Eczema or Acne. The expert says that while younger women’s skin is able to “bounce back”, those over the age of 40 may notice permanent effects of stress. So what can be done to combat wrinkles? Well, aside from trying to reduce stress by sleeping longer, exercising more frequently and thinking positively, there is also a number of Laser and Skin treatments available to help give your skin a smooth, more youthful appearance. These include the likes of Line & Wrinkle treatment, Skin Peels and Medical Microdermabrasion, which work effectively on their own or can be combined for maximum results.
