A skincare expert has said that a stressful lifestyle is one of the main reasons why young and middle-aged women suffer from outbreaks of spots and pimples. Spots are something that all teenagers have to put up with, but not everyone loses their poor complexion once they enter adulthood. According to a report by The Times of India, studies have revealed that a fifth of women between the ages of 25 and 40 suffer from adult acne.Cosmetic dermatologist Meera James told the publication that changes to work and home life in order to reduce stress, anxiety and tension were the best way to fight bad skin. Dr James said: "There is a wrong notion that eating chocolates may result in acne. Adult pimples, or for that matter any breakout on the face or body, has nothing to do with what you eat. "Most skin diseases, especially pimples, are due to stress in your daily life. If you want to get rid of pimples, you need to make changes in your lifestyle." Touching red pimples with dirty hands can easily lead to them becoming infected, said Dr James. She recommended not rubbing the facial area too hard when bathing, using a dedicated facewash product, and seeking advice from a medical professional before pimples flare up.
