Supermodel admits ear op helped launch her career

A Victoria's Secret lingerie model has admitted that she underwent an Otoplasty procedure to help her launch what has since become a stellar career. Alessandra Ambrosio, 32, has gone on to become one of the world's highest-paid models, but said that, at the time of her operation, the surgeon who carried out the procedure to pin back her protruding ears "had only done it once before, so I was a guinea pig," she told celebrity gossip site Contactmusic.com. She had several revisions of the operation over a number of years, but says that hard work is now the key to her staying in the shape needed to remain at the top of her career, and that she will not go under the knife again. She saw the benefits of an exacting exercise regime as a result of losing more than four stones (135kg) which she put on as a result of "really [going] for it with food", after giving birth to her first child, daughter Anja, who's now five.
