Survey finds respondents want treatments for improved skin tone
02 July 2014The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) has released the findings from a new survey, which show that consumers are looking for wrinkle-reducing treatments and improved skin tone.Over 8,300 respondents gave their views on Non Surgical treatments, ranking 10 Laser & Skin solutions from one to ten. Topping the list were Laser treatments to reduce wrinkles and promote skin tightening (45 per cent of respondents), as well as to improve redness, skin tone and the appearance of scars (41 per cent). ASDS President-Elect George J. Hruza, said: “Dermatologic surgeons are – and have been – at the forefront in developing laser, light and energy-based treatments. “Devices and protocols have improved significantly in the past few years, making these minimally or non-invasive procedures we perform safer and more effective than ever.” Skin Peels and Body Sculpting took positions three and four respectively, with a whopping 517,000 of the former administered to patients of ASDS members in 2013. ASDS President Mitchel P. Goldman said that Skin Peels have been “a staple in fighting the effects of aging, sun damage and other imperfections for decades”. The treatment works by removing the outer layer of skin to reveal a smoother, younger-looking and more rejuvenated appearance. The Obagi Blue Skin Peel offered by The Harley Medical Group offers the ideal solution to problem skin and can be used to effectively treat Blemishes, Acne, Scars, Wrinkles, Uneven Pigmentation and Sun Damage.
