Tips on how to deal with hyperhidrosis on a daily basis
28 August 2015
Hyperhidrosis is a condition that causes people to sweat excessively. It often affects the hands, feet and armpits and can be difficult to deal with on a day-to-day basis, causing anxiety and affecting the self- esteem of those diagnosed. However with some top tips, it can be managed and you can complete everyday tasks with confidence.
- Carry a small towel or flannel with you everywhere you go. This allows you to keep dry as frequently as you need to.
- Keep mini antiperspirants in your bag at all times - antiperspirants prevent you from sweating whereas deodorants just control the odour. Mini perfumes are always handy to have too if you want to freshen up.
- Powder and waterproof mascara will keep your makeup intact. Makeup slides off the face when it’s hot, so keep it in place with powder and a waterproof mascara.
- Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. When you sweat you lose water from your body which is bad news for your skin. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep hydrated.
