It is important for women to adapt their skincare routine during winter to ensure it stays supple and healthy. In an article for the Huffington Post, Dr Howard Murad explained people will need a more hydrating moisturiser in the cold months because their skin produces less oil and therefore gets dry quickly.Similarly, it is also a good idea to switch to a gentle, foaming cleanser as there will be fewer impurities and less oil that needs to be cleared from the skin each day. Exfoliation is also hugely important during the winter months, Dr Murad continued. Exfoliate your skin at least once a week to increase cell renewal and remove dead skin cells, leaving your complexion looking radiant and smooth. As well as looking after the skin using external products, the expert recommended eating plenty of raw fruit and vegetables, as they are full of water and will help to keep the body hydrated and healthy.
