US soap star Lisa Rinna reveals plastic surgery past
20 May 2009US soap star Lisa Rinna has revealed the plastic surgery procedures she has undergone in the past, in a frank interview on MSNBC's Today show. The 45-year-old actress, who has appeared in popular American soap operas Days of our Lives and Melrose Place, said she had silicone injections in her upper lip 23 years ago. However, the silicone hardened over time and Rinna has since also had steroid injections to soften her upper lip. Today, lip surgery is usually carried out through the injection of dermal fillers. She said: "That's the pink elephant in the room. This is the first time I have told what I have done to my lips." Rinna also admitted to receiving Juvederm and Botox injections to smooth out her facial wrinkles. What's more, she also said she had undergone a breast uplift, which she feels has benefited her confidence. Ultimately, Rinna said that her plastic surgery had "made me who I am". Today, Rinna is seen annually as part of TV Guide Network's red carpet coverage in the states during Oscars season. She took over the role from Joan Rivers, a comedienne who has always been very frank about the cosmetic surgery procedures she has undergone. In February, Rivers released a non-fiction account of her cosmetic surgery past, entitled Men Are Stupid... And They Like Big Boobs: A Woman's Guide to Beauty Through Plastic Surgery. The 75 year old is one of Hollywood's biggest public proponents of the benefits of Botox injections, and has also undergone two facelifts, a rhinoplasty and eye bag removal surgery as part of her effort to turn back the clock.
