Vaginal rejuvenation surgery on the up
01 July 2011An American cosmetic surgeon has remarked on a surge in requests from women for vaginal rejuvenation surgery. In a press release published in online magazine American Health and Beauty, Dr Eliezer Livnat, a labiaplasty provider, said: Some women are unhappy with the appearance of their external genitalia. Aging, childbirth and injury can alter the size and shape of the labia minora (inner lips) or majora (outer lips) lips of the vulva. This may cause chronic irritation, painful intercourse, and the inability to wear tight clothing. The very fact that there is a specialist in the tightening and reshaping of female genitalia suggests that the demand for vaginal tightening and labiaplasty is growing as more and more women talk about the subject. Surgery is often performed to reshape the genitalia as well as tighten the area, and patients can continue with their normal daily routines after three or four days, and return to exercise and intercourse within six to eight weeks.
