Wayne Rooney’s honesty about cosmetic surgery is refreshing
Wayne Rooney, one of England’s top footballers, has confirmed rumours that he has had a hair transplant. The Manchester United Football Club (MUFC) striker made the revelation on social micro blogging site Twitter at the weekend. “Just to confirm to all my followers, I have had a hair transplant. I was going bald at 25, why not?” he wrote. His wife, fashion designer and television personality Coleen Rooney, tweeted to confirm that it had all been her husband’s idea and that she had not instigated discussions about having the cosmetic treatment. MUFC team mate Rio Ferdinand wrote a message of support on Twitter, writing: “Just don’t go down the wearing an alice band route! You’ll be doing headshoulders adverts soon. Hope its gone OK. Good luck lad [sic].” Rooney’s honesty will come as a refreshing surprise to those who are interested in celebrity culture and many will no doubt say that others who have Botox, breast implants or any other cosmetic surgery should be honest about it too.
