What you need to know about Laser Hair Removal

With so many hair removal methods to choose from, it can be hard to know which is right for you. Laser Hair Removal offers a simple solution to permanently reduce hair growth, leaving your skin silky smooth and hair-free for longer. So what else do you need to know?

As hair grows in different stages, it’s recommended to undergo a course of six to eight treatments for optimum results.

So how does it work? The laser targets the melanin in your hair follicles, destroying them at the root, leaving you hair-free.

This treatment is most effective on those with fair skin and dark, course hair but there are many different types of lasers which can address most skin types and hair colour.

It works best on the legs, arms, bikini and underarms as the skin is thinner here and the hair thicker. That said, it can be used all over the body and face.

You can shave in-between treatments but it is not recommended to use tweezers during this time as there will be no dark pigment for the laser to target at your next session.

Stay out of the sun before you undergo Laser Hair Removal. Lasers target dark pigmented areas and it could result in your skin becoming burnt.

If you have dark skin, an Nd:YAG laser will be used to prevent burning and scarring.
