How long does a breast enlargement take?
A breast augmentation procedure often takes between one and two hours to complete and is carried out under general anaesthetic. You may be required to stay in hospital overnight so that your progress can be monitored by our expert healthcare team.
How long does it take to recover from breast enlargement surgery?
Breast surgery recovery times varies from person to person. We recommend that you ensure a break of between 7 and 14 days off work immediately after your procedure. It can take up to six weeks after a breast enlargement procedure to fully recover.
A number of factors can impact the recovery time, including both pre-surgery preparation and post recovery aid.

After qualifying in 2001 at the University of Palermo, Miss Anna De Leo FEBOPRAS, MD obtained a further plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery degree in Rome in 2006. Mr Steven Thrush F.R.C.S. (Gen. Surg), F.R.C.S. (Eng.), M.B.B.S. qualified as a Doctor in 1992 from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine. Since 2004 he has worked at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital as a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in breast and endocrine surgery. He is also a Fellow of the University of Worcester and an Honorary Lecturer in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery at the University of East Anglia.
Mr Thrush is the Lead for the Breast Expert Advisory Group and has published numerous academic articles in breast surgery. He has been a member of the Royal College of Surgeons since 1996, specialising in breast surgery.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery from Madurai Medical College in India, Mr Allwin Gnanajebamani F.R.C.S. (Plast), F.R.C.S. With over 20 years experience, both privately and in the NHS, Allwin is an expert in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Mr Seni Mylvaganam (M.F.S.T.), (F.R.C.S.), (M.R.C.S.), (M.B.B.S.), BSc (First Class Hons) is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust.
He qualified in 2003 following his studies at the Royal Free and University College London. He undertook his specialist training in the West Midlands and included the highly competitive and sought after national oncoplastic breast fellowship providing the highest standard of reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery training. Mr Mylvaganam has published book chapters and numerous peer-reviewed publications in highly respected international medical journals.
Mr Mylvaganam has a specialist interest in quality assurance of patient care and is on various regional and national committees addressing improving breast surgery patient outcomes. He has a significant role in the training of the next generation of surgeons as a programme director in the West Midlands for core surgery.
