Most people have a feature or body part that makes them feel a little self-conscious. Sometimes the solutions is obvious, but at other times it’s not so clear. We meet people everyday who start questions with ‘What can be done to...?’ and ‘How can I get ...?’
We know people like answers, but they also like options, which is why we have developed our unique Body Treatment Guide tool which will help you learn more about the skincare products, treatments or procedures that are right for you.
Many women find that they have stubborn pockets of fat that they can’t get rid of, most commonly around the thigh area, the buttocks, the upper arms and the abdomen. Liposuction is used to reshape and sculpt particular areas of the body by removing excess fat. This surgical procedure is not designed to be used as a procedure for weight loss but is instead for those people who have stubborn pockets of fat which diet and exercise just won’t shift. The procedure is carried out under general anaesthetic and usually takes between one and two hours. Recovery varies from person to person but you can usually expect to be back at work after two weeks and see the full results of the surgery after six weeks.
Despite a lifestyle of healthy eating and exercise ladies often find areas and pockets of fat that are hard to remove. Though perfectly natural and not harmful many seek to remove these fat pockets. But with lots of liposuction options, choosing the right procedure for you can be confusing. At The Harley Medical Group we always aim to ensure that our patients get the right procedure for them which is why we offer traditional Liposuction; Vaser Liposuction and Laser Liposuction.
HELPING PATIENTS TO ACHIEVE A HEALTHIER BODY WEIGHT AND LIFESTYLE
In the UK alone it is estimated that over 10million adults are classified as obese, which is based on a body mass index – BMI – of above 30kg/m2. However, maintaining a healthy weight, and lifestyle, in today’s world is an ever increasing challenge. As a result a lot of people are turning to weight loss procedures for a solution.
The tummy tuck procedure is particularly popular with new mums and with those women who have lost a significant amount of weight and have been left with excess, loose skin. The surgery is carried out under general anaesthetic and is used to remove any excess skin and fatty tissue, reshape the area and create a slimmer, smoother and tighter abdominal area. A tummy tuck can be combined with liposuction for those women who are looking to achieve a slimmer waistline.
Arm and Thigh Lift
Those who have lost a substantial amount of weight can be left with unsightly loose skin on particular areas of their body, and it is not unusual for one of these areas to be the arms or thighs. Many people choose to have thigh lift surgery to improve the appearance of their legs, make them look slimmer and firmer, and have the confidence to show off the results of their weight loss. The procedure is carried out under general anaesthetic and you will need to take two weeks off work in order to fully recover, during which time you will be advised to avoid any physical exercise.
Labiaplasty & Vaginoplasty
Cosmetic gynaecology is often referred to as vaginal tightening or vaginal reshaping depending on the type of procedure you have. The days of taboo surrounding this type of cosmetic surgery are long gone and it is not at all uncommon for women to enquire about cosmetic gynaecology if they are unhappy with the way their genitalia looks, or if it is causing discomfort or embarrassment. Surgery can be performed on the outer areas of the genitalia - the pubis mound and labia minora - and on the inside if the surgeon is tightening the area.
