WHAT IS RHINOPLASTY?
Rhinoplasty, also known as nose surgery or a nose job, is a surgical procedure to reduce the size or change the shape of the nose.
“We have performed thousands of nose surgery procedures, including reducing the size of the nose, changing the shape of the nose, increasing or decreasing the size of the nostrils and smoothing lumps and bumps.” Mark Solomos, consultant rhinoplasty surgeon.
As the central feature of the face, the nose can determine your overall look. If you feel it's not in proportion with the rest of your features, or if you are unhappy with the shape or position of it, Rhinoplasty can help. Whatever the reason is for you being unhappy with your nose, book in for a free consultation today to see how we can help and talk through your options.
Rhinoplasty Can Involve:
Often patients feel the size of their nose is disproportioned with their facial features. Nose surgery can modify the size, shape and overall appearance of the nose in the following ways:
- Narrowing the bridge of the nose.
- Reshaping the tip if the nose.
- Widen or narrow the nostrils.
- Removing some bone and cartridge off the nose to reduce the size.

The Rhinoplasty Procedure
Your procedure will be carried out under general anaesthetic and it should take around two hours. Many nose surgeries involve making tiny cuts inside the nostrils; this is closed rhinoplasty. For this type of procedure, visible signs of surgery are minimal. Nose surgeries which cut across the skin, between the nostrils (open rhinoplasty), may leave fine scars. Once the procedure is complete, the skin on your nose will then shrink or expand around its new shape. Proper aftercare is recommended. See rhinoplasty before and after photos to see examples of our work.
Rhinoplasty Recovery and Aftercare
After surgery, you will need to stay in hospital for one night and wear a splint over your nose for 7-10 days. Whilst in the clinic, you may have dressings inside each nostril. Any bruising should subside around two weeks post-surgery, and swelling can take up to six weeks to recover. It is recommended that you refrain from working for at least two weeks after your surgery, and avoid strenuous exercise for at least six weeks. A series of follow-up appointments will be made to check your progress.
