Many of us wish we could turn back the clock on our fine lines and wrinkles â well itâs actually easier than you think. One expert shares tips for looking 10 years younger.
First of all, itâs important to avoid habits which are detrimental for your skin. This includes smoking and too much sun exposure. Ensure you apply sunscreen daily, seeking out formulas which contain antioxidants such as vitamin C to protect against damaging UV rays.
California-based Skin Care Expert Veronica Barton-Schwartz stresses the importance of hydration. âI can always tell when someone isnât drinking enough water from the condition of their skin.â Keep your skin clear and supple by drinking plenty of water each day.
Regular exfoliation will slough away the build-up of dead skin cells, stimulating the production of collagen and leaving your skin smooth, clear and radiant, while eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and avoiding sugar not only benefits your skin but also your joint mobility, cognitive function and eye health.
Getting the recommended eight hoursâ sleep each night does wonders for your skin, helping to prevent against premature ageing and leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Lastly, Barton-Schwartz suggests regular exercise to increase the amount of oxygen delivered to your skin cells, helping to reduce wrinkles and inflammation.
