Breast surgery consultation involves more consideration than procedure, says Cosmetic Surgeon

You may think that performing Cosmetic Surgery is a complicated process but according to one Cosmetic Surgeon, the consultation actually involves more consideration than the procedure itself.
This is certainly the case for Breast Enlargement procedures where Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Neal Goldberg says: âwomen should be prepared to discuss their cosmetic goals, medical history, and the type of breast implants they prefer.â
The Cosmetic Surgeon adds that he carries out a physical examination of each patient to determine whether or not they are ideal Breast surgery candidates. So careful is Dr. Goldberg to ensure that his patients book the correct procedure for their needs that he usually asks them to come back to him for a second consultation before surgery.
Itâs then that the Cosmetic Surgeon advises his patient on the correct size and location of the breasts and is on hand to answer any other queries or concerns the patient may have regarding their chosen procedure.
Dr. Goldberg asks patients to refrain from drinking and eating for 24 hours prior to surgery and advises them to take anti-inflammatory medicine for around two weeks before the procedure. Other than that, he says there is little else to do in the way of preparation.
Following Breast surgery, the Cosmetic Surgeon recommends women book a week off work and abstain from strenuous activities for up to six weeks. Patients should wear dressings and sometimes even a special bra to encourage the breasts to heal fully.
