Exfoliation and hydration are the keys to rejuvenating tired looking and dry winter skin. This is the advice of one skin expert, Louise Thomas-Minns, who explained the negative impact that cold weather can have on the skin during a recent interview. “Dehydration is the term coined by the cosmetic industry to describe the tight, creepy appearance that's down to a lack of water in the skin. It's a lot more complex than this, however - upping your fluid intake can help," she said.Thomas-Minns acknowledged the “unsightly changes” that people can suffer during the winter months and advised deep exfoliation, such as medical microdermabrasion to combat these changes. She said that this can limit outbreaks of spots or acne and reduce the appearance of fine lines, sun spots and blemishes.
