How to do beauty like a pro – tips from a Parisian beauty editor

4 March 2016

In light of Paris Fashion Week, who better to share beauty tips than a Parisian beauty editor? Celine Perruche of French magazine Lui has spoken out about her regime, offering some top skincare tips.

  • How do I achieve flawless skin?

French women are always beautifully turned out, with glowing complexions and flawless skin to match their perfectly manicured nails. So how do they do it? Here are Celine’s top 10 skincare tips:

  • Drink hot water
  • Wear sunscreen every day, whatever the weather
  • Don’t drink alcohol excessively
  • Quit smoking
  • Wear minimal makeup
  • Eat as healthily as you can
  • Clean your face in the morning
  • Cleanse at night before bed
  • Get outdoors in the fresh air
  • Always remember to laugh

What about makeup?

In keeping with her advice, Celine is a fan of minimal makeup and prefers the natural look. She said: “my best friend told me once that I was doing ‘air make-up’: eyelashes curler, a little coloured lip balm, a touch of concealer around the eyes, nose edges, forehead and chin. […] The only colour you’ll see on me is on my nails.”

What’s it like working at Paris Fashion Week?

Paris Fashion Week kicked off on 1 March, making it Celine’s job to get the scoop on this year’s must-have beauty looks. So what does an average day look like for her during fashion week?

Waking up at around 7am, Celine cooks breakfast for her daughters and drops them off at school before heading to the first show of the day. Swinging by the office afterwards, she follows up with her colleagues at Lui magazine before attending another show. A quick trip home to feed her daughters dinner and put them to bed, then Celine attends a fashion dinner or after-show party before collapsing into bed – removing her makeup first of course!
