Olympic beach volleyball player advocates permanent hair removal

Tickets for the London 2012 Olympic beach volleyball matches were some of the most sought after following their release last year, and with 96 bronzed and toned athletes due to do battle in central London, it's not hard to see why. With just 100 days left to go until the start of the competition, Horse Guards Parade will be transformed into a beach paradise with the help of more than 2,000 tonnes of sand. Athletes will perform in a 15,000-seater stadium and with the eyes of the world upon them, it's no surprise they want to look their best.Speaking to the Evening Standard, Team GB member Zara Dampney said she turns to cosmetic treatments in order to maintain her appearance. The 25-year-old said permanent hair removal procedures are the key, while her skincare regime involves considerable use of sun cream. She said: "We're in the sun a lot so I use a really high factor sun cream. "Because we train hard we're likely to have lean bodies and not much fat but how I look is not the most important thing to me."
