Medically Reviewed April 2023, by Claire Clarke - Head of Surgical Services for The Harley Medical Group

In this fast-paced world time is precious. Our highly experienced team will be delighted to answer all of your questions when you visit your local clinic. To help you get the most out of your visit we asked our team what are the most popular topics that our clients touch on during their consultation, and what information we can give in advance to help. Their answers have allowed us to give you guidance before your visit, so you can get the most out of your appointment.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

At The Harley Medical Group we pride ourselves in the standards of cleanliness at our Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW)  registered clinics. This is fundamental for us and our nurses as the health and safety of our clients and team is our top priority.

However, we understand that actions are more important that words, which is why we want to give you an insight into the daily steps we take, as well as the additional steps we are taking to be extra vigilant, amid growing concerns around the Coronavirus.

Our surgeons

Our surgeons undergo a rigorous process to join our team. Your care and safety are our priority, which is why we will only work with the best surgeons in the UK.

All of our surgeons:

  • Full time cosmetic plastic surgeons

Many surgeons can, and do, perform cosmetic surgery procedures occasionally as their professional focus is another field of medicine. All of our surgeons are dedicated Cosmetic Plastic Surgeons, either for the NHS or privately, which means every procedure that they perform is one of their chosen cosmetic procedures. All of our surgeons are, therefore, highly experienced and remarkably skilled specialists in cosmetic surgery.

  • Years of experience

We understand that new surgeons are exceptionally skilled, but we appreciate a combination of experience and skill to get the best results. All of our surgeons have been performing cosmetic surgery for a number of years before they start working with us.

  • Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC)

The GMC is an independent organisation which helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for doctors. All of our surgeons are registered with the GMC, adhering to the comprehensive policies and practices outlines. Further, as also require that all of our surgeons are fully insured to practice surgery in the UK.

  • Live in the UK

The medical institutions of the world have created exceptional surgeons and at The Harley Medical Group we want to ensure you nothing less than exceptional, which is why some of our surgeons come from all over the world. However, we do not recruit 'fly-in / fly-out' surgeons but rather require our surgeons to be based in the UK, thus ensuring that when they meet you they are always performing at they very best.

  • Widely published

All of our surgeons understand the value of continued education ensuring that they always use the best methods to produce the best results for our patients. Many of our surgeons teach the next generation of medical students in their personal time and we even have two specialist Professors as part of our team. All of our surgeons are highly regarded in the medical community and are widely published in a variety of specialist fields.

  • Charitable

We are very proud of our surgeons, many of whom are actively involved in charities, in the UK an abroad, donating both time and money

Clinical governance

To ensure a high standard of safety and care within the independent healthcare sector, all providers must be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) - and the Healthcare Inspectorate in Wales. Providers must demonstrate their compliance, across all clinics, to the exacting standards and set outcomes outlined by the CQC.

The Harley Medical Group is advocates of preeminent clinical practice.  We adhere strictly to the clinical governance criteria set out by the regulatory body, under the responsibility of the Nominated Individual (NI), and this is reflected not only in the service that we provide to our patients but also in our exemplary regulatory record.
