About Miss Kate Williams
Miss Kate Williams is a Consultant Chest Contouring and Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, Clinical Lead for Breast Services and Cancer Clinical Lead at North Manchester General Hospital, part of the Manchester Foundation NHS trust. She has extensive experience in delivery of gender-affirming masculinising and non-binary top surgery, having performed more than 275 cases. She also has wide experience in breast cancer surgery and aesthetic breast surgery, including breast reconstruction, breast lift, reduction, augmentation and gynaecomastia correction.
Kate graduated from the University of Leeds in 2003 and completed her general and breast surgical training in the North West before being appointed as a national training interface group fellow in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery. In this period of specialist training, she enhanced her skills in aesthetic breast surgery and reconstruction. Kate has a research MD degree, during which she was awarded with a Royal College of Surgeons, England Research Fellowship. She had been providing chest contouring surgery at North Manchester General Hospital since 2016 and has been influential in building and shaping the service since then.
Kate works collaboratively with her patients to understand their desired outcome from surgery. She is dedicated to delivering high quality, patient-centred care. She is a strong advocate for trans rights and has contributed to publications and health professional training to improve the healthcare that trans people receive.
