Beyond the theatre, Mr Topps is a keen sportsman who enjoys playing tennis and rugby. He is not afraid to admit that he enjoys spending time with Toby, his pet Burmese cat.

Mr Ashley Topps is a Consultant Breast and Oncoplastic Surgeon at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a specialist breast surgeon with a NHS practice dealing exclusively with patients who require breast surgery, he has built up considerable experience and uses the latest techniques in reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery. He has performed procedures such as breast enlargement, breast uplift and enlargement, breast reduction and breast uplift.
Mr Topps graduated from Cambridge University and then University College London. He trained extensively in general surgery before focusing the latter part of his training on oncoplastic breast surgery. This included a fellowship at the Nightingale Centre, one of the most prestigious breast units in the country. He has a master’s degree in oncoplastic breast surgery – Europe’s highest qualification for oncoplastic breast surgeons.
Within his NHS practice he has a specialist role in ensuring that the highest standards of care are delivered based on the best evidence and this is something that he prides himself on when treating all his patients. He is an award winning teacher and through various roles is actively involved in training the next generation of surgeons. He has multiple peer reviewed publications in the field of breast surgery and has presented his work internationally. He is frequently invited to speak at conferences to share his expertise.
